Guide to Big Bear, California

July 16, 2018

Big Bear is located in the middle of the San Bernadino Mountains alongside Big Bear Lake. The area is blessed with mild California temps but is lucky enough to experience the beauty of all four seasons.

Since this small mountain is only a two-hour drive from Los Angeles and Orange County,  it is a popular weekend destination for adventure seekers. The slopes are a big draw in the winter, but there are plenty of outdoorsy activities available throughout the year.

Guide to Kauai, Hawaii

Cliff Trail near Shipwreck Beach in Kauai, Hawaii | Alyssa Pacaut

Known as a lush tropical paradise, Kauai is Hawaii’s fourth largest island and a great place for your next vacation. Some of the best hiking trails and beaches in the world line the edge of the island with a dense rain forest in the center that has been featured in action films like Indiana Jones and Jurassic Park.

Outdoor fanatics will be right at home with endless opportunities to hike, surf, and get involved with water sports. Everyone else will have fun accessing some of the best vistas by car and enjoying the laidback vibe of the island. Guide to Anza-Borrego Desert State Park

Ocotillo in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park | Alyssa Pacaut

Anza-Borrego Desert State Park is humongous and spans nearly 650,000 acres. It’s located just east of San Diego County and is home to about 600 or so desert bighorn sheep (aka borregos) that typically keep to the remote areas of the park.

Hop in your car and take to the many roads that crisscross the park. You’ll enjoy exploring the surprisingly diverse terrain from sweeping vistas and broad canyons to the random rock formations and alien-like plants dotting the open desert. It’s great place for a day trip or weekend camping adventure!

Long Beach Wall Crawl

February 13, 2017

Long Beach Wall Crawl | modernfrenchblog.com

Long Beach is having a bit of a renaissance and with Valentine’s Day on the horizon it seemed like the right time to show a little love. Mitch Maher and I set out to explore the best walls in Long Beach this past weekend. I wore outfits in black, white, and navy while he played the role of art director and photographer.

The result is a love letter to our fair city in digital form, i.e. the Long Beach Wall Crawl complete with artist recognition and locations so you too can spend a couple hours taking in this beautiful art. A big merci to POW! WOW! Long Beach for bringing these artists to our hometown!
